The Books:

1. Bridge

     As long as Topher has lived beside the old iron bridge, he has sensed a dark presence around it. When it causes the death of his best friend, Luke Monroe, Topher and Luke's sister Callie fight to destroy it.

 

2. When Darkness Falls

     Blake has always felt like he was the only one with psychic abilities, until he meets Faith Carlisle, the new girl at school, and an Internet search leads him to Topher. Blake and Topher soon learn that not only do they share abilities, they also share a father whom neither of them knows. When Blake and Faith discover another of the dark force's portals, they ask Topher for help in defeating it. But when Faith is taken through the portal, Blake must fight the darkness alone.

 

3. Jet Black

     Things aren't going well between Topher and Callie, and when Topher meets Misty Donnelly, who contacts him after finding a portal, he feels drawn to her. But Topher doesn't know that Misty has made a bargain with the dark force: if it helps her get revenge on those who have made fun of her, she will help it get revenge on Topher and the others. Can Faith make Topher see the truth before it's too late?

 

4. Time of Darkness

      On a school field trip, Blake, Faith, and their friend Eli Tyler meet Millicent Andrews, who for over a hundred years has been working for the dark force, bringing people to one of its portals. Now she is working with Misty to defeat Blake and the others before they can battle the dark force.

 

5. Into the Black

     A new teen center is the perfect place for a portal. Plenty of victims for the dark force to choose from. When Topher and the others discover the portal they are made to turn against each other by one of the dark force's servants, Lionel Creighton. Unable to work together in the darkness's world, Topher, Callie, and Ivan Kosoff may be trapped there forever.

 

6. Mind Like a Trap

     An e-mail leads Blake and the others to a portal in another town and to Quinn Everett and her autistic stepbrother Shane. At first, Quinn seems to be a concerned stepsister, the only one who can break through the wall Shane has in his mind and help him communicate. But things aren't what they seem. Quinn is hiding something. Meanwhile, Faith has begun to understand that she, too, isn't what she appears to be. Can Blake help her cope with the knowledge that she's more than human and persuade her to help defeat the dark force?

 

7. Storm

      Topher's friend Darin Gordon has a new addition to his family. His nine-year-old cousin Jeffrey has come to live with Darin and his parents. Jeffrey has an unusual ability: aerokinesis, or psychic control of the weather. But control isn't a good word for it. When Jeffrey becomes angry he can't prevent his ability from taking over. When Topher and the others discover that the dark force is after Jeffrey to gain his ability, they must help Jeffrey learn control while protecting him from the darkness.

 

8. In the Shadows

     Callie, who is attending the local university, has become obsessed with schoolwork to the point of jeopardizing her health. Beth Forbes, whom Blake and Eli meet at their school community service placement, has been isolated by her mother and is targeted by the dark force because of her abilities. She takes music lessons at the university. And Blake and Eli's community service advisor suggests Blake and Eli try a shortcut to their placement through the university campus. Coincidence? Blake doesn't believe in those.

 

9. Stonewalled

     The darkness has tried many times to gain control of Blake and has failed every time. Now it is at its final portal and is determined to get rid of Blake and the others once and for all. It believes that without Blake, the others will be unable or unwilling to fight. And Topher's afraid it may be right. With Blake refusing to believe that the dark force is targeting him, how can Topher and Faith free him from the darkness's control before it's too late? Complicating things, Topher and Blake find their father in an unexpected place and must accept his help.

 

10. Dark Destiny

       It is Faith's time to fight the final battle against the dark force, and she has to fight alone. She doesn't even have the support of most of her friends; all of them except Blake and Eli are under the control of the dark force and are trying to prevent Faith from confronting it. Blake knows that his destiny is to ensure that Faith fulfills hers and will do whatever he has to to protect her until she reaches the portal, but how can he help her do something that will destroy her?
